It's a very sad thing. We had to close our store in downtown Salem. As much fun as we were having, and as many people who kept telling us how much they loved the store, it just wasn't feasible to remain open.
But do not despair! We have integrated the stock from Wicked Goodz into our flagship store, The Trolley Depot. And we are keeping our web store, www.wickedgoodz.com open for business.
Which means you'll still be able to buy your sushi bandages, Avenging Unicorn playset, Zombie Brain gelatin mold, Mario Bros energy drinks, and all that other weird stuff we were known for.
So, shop online or, if you're in downtown Salem, come by The Trolley Depot and visit us.
Hope to see you soon!

It's Spring!
I realize that the first day of Spring is March 21st (the Spring Equinox), but around here, it doesn't usually feel springlike until the middle of April, when the threat of frost is finally over.
This winter seemed exceptionally long due to several nasty strains of flu that took Massachusetts by storm. Every employee we have got hit with at least one strain, thankfully not all at once.
But now the sun is shining, the birds are singing, and we've all stopped puking. In between the chills and coughs and NyQuil induced delirium we worked on our new website. And I'm happy to announce it's up and running. We have all kinds of nifty stuff for your buying pleasure. Please hop on over and check it out!
The brand spannkin' new Wicked Goodz website. We're also on Facebook, too. Become a fan of Wicked Goodz.

Wow! can you believe February is here already? Next week is the 6th annual "Salem's So Sweet"chocolate and ice sculpture festival. The sculptures last year were just stunning, I can't wait to see what they do this year.

Wicked Goodz will have free candy plus a special gift with purchase of $20 or more. And of course, we have the most interesting gifts for your sweetie.
Where else can you get an "I love You" toast stamp,
"Love Toss" flinging cupid game,
"Scorned Woman" fudge (chocolate with a hint of jalepeno)
,
"Dirty Girl" bath products, and retro valentine stickers? No where else! Come on in, we've got what you want.

It's a brand new day!
First post of the year, woot!
We've been working hard on our new website. We're hoping to have it up and running by the end of the month for your shopping pleasure. There's so many things to add to it, I'm not quite sure where to begin. Pictures to take, descriptions to write, lots to do!
I just wanted to take a minute to let everyone know what we're doing. Check back to see how it's going.
See ya!

Avast, me hearties!
It's that time of year again, when Pirates descend upon our fair city. The ever-popular annual Salem Pirate Faire is back at Winter Island, September 15 & 16. It's a weekend long treasure chest of piratey goodness (or should that be badness)? It's sure to please the whole family, from the Captain right down to your littlest buccaneer. There's music, food, games, merchandise, and of course, Pirates.
Bone up on your pirate-speak for International Talk like a Pirate Day, September 19th. How awesome would it be if you could get the whole office doing it? "Arrrr, where's the quarterly reports?", "Avast! The copier be out of ink again!", "Smith! Bring me my coffee before I keelhaul you, you bilge rat." It'd be grand.
As always we have a treasure trove of booty to please even the scurveyest of dogs. Here's a few of our most recent aquisitions.
A notepad w/stickers, wallet (fer yer booty!), tissues (don't use the hand with the hook!), a candy skull lolly, pirate toss game, magnetic dress-a-pirate set, and a floaty tub toy.

Contact us for a complete list of our pirate stuff!

Pirate or Ninja?

It is the question of the ages, who is cooler, Pirates or Ninjas?
Really it's a hard call. They both have their good points and drawbacks.
They both have interesting uniforms. Ninjas often wear similar uniforms of black, masks, and toe-socks!
Of course, Pirates get the bling; with multiple earrings and gaudy necklaces, not to mention ruffly shirts, leather boots, hats, and lots of scarves. No two Pirates seem to look alike, it's an "anything goes" attitude with their wardrobe.

They both get to carry weapons. Although both use knives and swords, Ninjas get specialized items like shuriken and nunchucks! Not to mention kick*ss martial arts skills.
Much cooler than a rusty cutlass and a pistol.
Ninjas drink sake and eat tasty foods like sushi, rice, and ramen (some ninjas eat lots of ramen!). Pirates drink rum (lots of rum) and eat hardtack and dried beef. They also have to worry about scurvy.I'm thinking the ninjas win that round.
Of course, both lifestyles are fraught with danger. You don't see too many old Pirates or Ninjas. And if you lose an arm or leg your Ninja career is pretty much over, although it doesn't seem to
stop a Pirate. Score one for the seadogs!
The best part about Pirates is their symbol; the skull and crossbones. Awesome. It looks good on anything (shirts, flags, shower curtains, aprons...)
No matter your preference, I think we can all agree that both Ninjas and Pirates are pretty freakin cool and we've got the merchandise to prove it!

stick that in your basket
Oh my, it has been awhile since I last posted. Seems I completely skipped March. Ah well.
This month we have Spring to look forward to. I know the official first day of spring was last month but since we still have snow and frigid temps here I'll hold off on working in the garden until I'm sure we're defrosted. Sometime in May, I expect.
We're trying to get into the spring feel here with some fun items for a certain bunny to include in your basket. What says "Spring" more than a colorful basket filled with random candy and stuff!
We love random stuff!
Some of my favorites are this collection of mini toys (paints, modeling clay, markers and crayon)
.
Who could resist cute little duck-keys? A set of four rubber covers for your keys, so you can tell them apart. I'm going to put some on the hubby's work keys and see how long it takes him to notice (hee hee).

Is this the cutest thing ever?! Look at his happy little face! I love this plastic bank, it's just soooo cute! (squeals)

Yes, bunnies and chicks are very nice. But why have a boring ol' spring plushie when you could have a plush jackalope instead?!

Chocolate eggs and marshmallow peeps are nice, but this stuff won't rot your teeth. Happy Spring!

Love is in the air...

Hello my lovelies! I hope you all have a lovely Valentine's Day. We're waiting with bated breath to see if the first Nor'easter of the season hits us tomorrow. It's been very cold and windy here but we've only had 1.8 inches of snow so far. Usually by this time we average around 16 inches of snow . I'm not sure whether to be thankful or not.
At any rate, my dog and I braved the weather to take pictures of the ice sculptures that have popped up around town thanks to the Salem's So Sweet event. We helped fund the mermaid (my personal favorite).
Some of the other sculputres included a teapot, witch on a broom (gives whole new meaning to the expression "cold as a witch's teat" doesn't it?), a pair of seals, and Harry Potter (did you know Salem is the only North American city mentioned in the series?)!

This is the 5th year Salem has done this festival. I love seeing the ice sculptures, and sampling all the chocolate yummies offered by many of our fine retailers and resturants. Can't wait to see what they do next year!

A new year
Here we are, first post of the new year. We've recovered from the holiday shopping madness, the parties, and the sudden drop in temperature (last week it was 60 and yesterday was a chilly 24!).
Salem pretty much shuts down for the winter. Most of the attractions are closed, and many of the stores downtown will open weekends only. Makes it easy to find a parking spot, but a bit lonely.
This is the time of year we scour catalogs and websites, looking for new and exciting merchandise for our store. We've already spotted a couple of promising items.
We'll keep you updated on all the fun stuff we find, and what's going on in our lovely city. Be sure to check back! See you soon!

There's too much blood in my caffiene system...
Ahhh, coffee... I can't get through the day without a good cuppa joe. And I'm betting you're going to buy at least one mug for somebody on your list. It's a great gift for anyone, I mean, everybody drinks! Here's a selection of coffee (or tea) mugs for your shopping pleasure.
Shakespearean Mugs of Love & Lust.
These white ceramic mugs are covered with color text depicting quotes from some of the Bard's works. The Shakespearean Love Mug will show off your romantic, sensitive side with quotes such as, "My heart is ever at your service" and "I love you with so much of my heart that none is left to protest."
Show off your other side with the Shakespearean Naughty Mug, covered in the Bard's words for your naughty bits and what you do with them. My personal favorites? "Making the beast with two backs" and "three inch fool".

Mugs that do stuff!
These mugs all have images that change when a hot liquid is poured in.
The Herny the VIII disappearing wives mug is a classy black mug with Henry in full color and his six wives in black & white. Pour in a hot drink and watch his wives disappear faster than he could marry them.
Vincent Van Gogh disappearing ear mug. Yup, you guessed it. Pour hot liquid into this full color mug and watch as Vinnie's ear fades away.

Our ever popular disappearing Civil Liberties mug is joined by the Global Warming mug. This bright blue and green map of the world shows what we're in store for when the polar ice caps melt. Pour in a hot beverage and watch the coastlines disappear. So long, California!
Then there's our Cheshire Cat mug. Black and white illustration of Alice and the Cheshire Cat along with the quote, "Well, I've often seen a cat without a grin, but a grin without a cat! It's the most curious thing!" The enigmatic kitty fades away when a hot liquid is poured in, leaving Alice alone with his toothy grin. Curious indeed.

Last but not least is the Descartes mug for the philosopher in you. Descartes said, "I think, therefore I am." But when asked if he'd like coffee and replied, "I think not", he disappeared. Ponder that over your morning cup.

Retro inspired images grace these full color mugs. Sweet 1950's housewives smile sweetly even as they threaten, "I haven't had my coffee yet. Don't make me kill you." and suggest you, "Drink Coffee. Do stupid things faster with more energy" Well, mom always did know best.

Injest a bit of history with your daily dose of caffiene with the 1674 Women's Petition against coffee and the 1674 Men's answer in Defense of Coffee mugs. These are nice looking 2 color mugs with wrap around text and illustrations. So whether you're all for the "indulgent & invigorating spiritualescency" or against that "nasty, bitter, stinking, nauseous puddle-water" these are sure to strike your fancy.

Each of these mugs are under $10!!! How awesome is that? You can afford to get a great mug, and some cocoa to go with! Sweet!
Call us at 1- 800- 821- 8179 to order.

It's just what I wanted!
Admit it, you know that's the reaction you want from your gift recipient, even if it is just Carl from the office.
We have lots of inexpensive gifts for even the pickiest person on your list.
Know someone who always wanted to be a pirate? We have a vast selection of pirate related items. (heh heh, avast! pirates! get it?) For the little buccaneer there's pirate tattoos and stickers, a jolly roger washcloth, or a pirate rubber duckie. For the lady of the seas we have sheer scarves with skulls in black, white or red, a canvass tote bag for holding her booty and even a skull & crossbones apron for time in the galley. We also have a Jolly Roger flag (3'x5', perfect for the family sloop), skull cellphone charms, wrapping paper, wallet, clock, 2 different styles of lunchboxes, and lots more. Arrrrr, maties!
Got a sushi addict in your life? How about a set of 4 placemats? They're wasabi green and covered in lifelike full color pieces of sashimi. Do they need help deciding things? Try our Fortune Cookie, an oversize fortune cookie that works like a Magic 8 ball. Want something a little nicer? We have 5" high Buddahs in assorted colors, accented with gold. Bring a little luck with a magnetic notepad of the Maneki Neko, or Lucky Cat.

Can't figure out what to get that surly teen? We have an assortment of anime and comic related
items featuring Naruto, FullMetal Alchemist, Emily the Strange, Lenore, Speed Racer, Wonder Woman, and Invader Zim. We also have lots of cool purses/bags (how about one shaped like dice?), wristbands, watches, jewelry and cell phones covers.

Need a gift for Yankee Swap or Secret Santa? Don't get caught giving another lame set of bath
gels or desk calendar that no one wants. Try the "foot in the door" red high heel shoe doorstop. Practical and so couture. Or go nostalgic with a Sea Monkey kit, the world's only instant pets! A matching pair of authentic pink lawn flamingos will perk up any dull holiday get-together.
What do you get Dad? The last thing the poor guy needs is another tie, all-in-one tool, or socks. He's got a drawer full of them. Buy him something he'll really like. Like keychains with a real working calculator, level, or tape measure. Show you know he's a man's man with a John Wayne coffee mug or glass. Of course, real men like to be real clean. Get him the Bag o' Balls gift pack, with two soaps, body wash, lip balm and skin cream. Cleanliness without any frou-frou girly smell.
We carry a fun selection of books for the crafty, including Stitch-n-Bitch, Generation T (108 ways to transform a t-shirt), and Subversive Cross stitch. We also have The Acme Catalog (so that's how the coyote gets all that cool stuff!), The T
winkie Cookbook, and Duct Shui; the
way of the tape.
Is there anyone who doesn't know someone who loves Elvis? I didn't think so. We have Elvis mugs, glasses, gorgeous purses and totebags, wallets and more. There's other americana such as Marilyn Monroe and John Wayne mugs, lunchboxes and accessories and replicas of vintage movie posters.
